Introduction

It seems like I've been using Web 2.0 tools forever (keyword seems)! In the past, I was a technology specialist for a middle school so I taught teachers how to use various software, social media, and other technology in their classrooms. I'm currently the Access Services Supervisor at the GSW library where I use Web 2.0 tools to reach out to the students, faculty, staff and community of GSW. My library mainly uses Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube to reach our audience. I have a Masters of Education in Instructional Technology from Georgia Southern University. While obtaining this degree I learned how to use various web 2.0 tools such as social networking sites, blogs, wikis, picture and video sharing sites, etc. I'm very comfortable with using Web 2.0 tools and want to learn how to use them even more in the library field!

  1. Valerie,

It is great to know that you were in education previously as well. I am a former high school teacher. I loved working with the technology specialist at my school. Oftentimes I would help her and teach the teachers in my department how to use certain applications like, gloster, edmodo, and tons others.
